AREQUIPA AND MACHUPICCHU TOUR (7 Days and 6 Nights)
Day 01 Arequipa and Machupicchu Tour: Lima – Arequipa
After the flight from Lima to Arequipa in the morning, we will pick you up from the Arequipa airport heading to the hotel you booked. In the afternoon, at 02:30 p.m. we will pick you up from the hotel to start with your city tour in the city of Arequipa. To start with the Arequipa – Machupicchu tour, we will visit the best places to start by visiting the famous monastery of Santa Catalina. Of course, we will visit Main Square and its beautiful cathedral. Finally, we will visit San Francisco Square, colonial mansions, Jesus company, and Yanahuara viewpoint. This tour ends at 06:00 p.m. Free dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 02: Arequipa – Colca Valley
Breakfast at your hotel, we will pick you up with the guide in our transport. Then, we will go along the northern highway where we will appreciate the Chanchani volcano, then we will arrive at the Pampa Canahuas to the Vicuna National Reserve. Also on the tour, we will appreciate the Chucura snow-capped mountains, the Toqra and Patapampa lakes, and we will arrive at the Mirador of the Andes, from where you can see the snow-capped mountain of Ampato, Hualca-Hualca, and the Andes mountain range. At noon, we will arrive to Chivay where we will spend the night and we will settle in the reserved hotel, we will walk through the city of Chivay and visit the thermal baths. Finally, we will enjoy the folkloric dances. Overnight in Chivay.
Day 03: Colca Valley – Parador and Cruz del Cóndor
Delicious breakfast at your hotel. Then, we will go very early to the Cruz del Condor viewpoint to see the spectacular flights of the condors. Also from the same place, we can appreciate one of the deepest canyons in the world the Colca Canyon. Then, we will visit the traditional towns of Pinchollo Yanque and Maca where we will see Lito models, hanging tombs, amphitheaters, churches, and terraces. Later, we will return to Chivay for lunch, finishing the trip back to the city of Arequipa. Arriving approx. at 05:00 p.m. At 07:00 p.m. Then, we will move to the bus terminal to undertake our trip to the beautiful city of Cusco.
Day 04: Cusco city and its Surroundings
First of all, we will wait for you in the bus terminal to welcome the city of Cusco, the archaeological capital of America. Then, we will take you to your hotel, you will have time to acclimatize all morning. In the afternoon at 02:00 p.m. We will pick you up from your hotel on our transport to start with the city tour, first, we will visit 2 beautiful places within the city of Cusco, the main Cathedral of Cusco and Qorikancha (beautiful Inca construction that was the supreme temple for the Sun God).
Then, we will go out of Cusco visiting Sacsayhuaman (a mysterious place of construction with giant stones made by the Incas in the form of lightning). Then, we will continue the visits to Qenqo (Inca construction that means narrow place) and continue the tour to two places Puca Pukara (Inca construction with military control functions) and finally, Tambomachay (it was destined to the water cult and for the head of the Empire of the Incas could rest) end of the tour, return to the city of Cusco, we will spend the night in your hotel in the city of Cusco.
Day 05: Sacred Valley – Cusco
After breakfast, we will come to pick you up, in our transport by our tour guide to start the tour, through an impressive Sacred Valley of the Incas, first, we will visit the Archaeological Park of Pisac known as the city of the towers (a small Inca city where there is an Inca cemetery, an Inca bridge, the Inca cemeteries wall, terraces, and the Intihuatana which means the watch that ties to the sun, after the visit to Pisac, we will go to the city of Urubamba for the delicious lunch, after lunch, we will continue with the tour on our bus for approximately 1 hour to the Archaeological Park of Ollantaytambo (the name comes from an Inca captain Ollantay (it was an archaeological construction of refuge of the great Inca general).
After finishing the visit in Ollantaytambo, this is where we will board the train to sleep in the district of “Aguas Calientes” to visit the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu the next day.
Day 06: Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu – Cusco
After breakfast, our guide will pick you up at your hotel. Then, we will take the bus to the entrance to Machu Picchu for 20 minutes, enter the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu for a guided tour for 2 hours and then have free time to take photos. Then, we will return by bus to “Aguas Calientes” and continue the train journey to Ollantaytambo from here by car to the city of Cusco. Arrive near the Main Square of Cusco of your hotel.
Day 7 Arequipa and Machupicchu Tour: Transfer / Airport, Cusco – Lima
Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast, we transfer you to the airport to board your departure flight. End of our Arequipa – Machupicchu Tour.
ITINERARY
AREQUIPA AND MACHUPICCHU TOUR (7 Days and 6 Nights)
Day 01 Arequipa and Machupicchu Tour: Lima – Arequipa
- Pick-up from the airport to the hotel in the morning.
- Rest in the hotel in the morning.
- Pick-up in our transport for the city tour at 02:30 p.m.
- Guided tours in the Main Square and the Cathedral.
- Then visit the Square of San Francisco, colonial mansions, cloisters of “La Compañía de Jesús”, ending at the Mirador of Yanahuara.
- The tour ends at approximately 06:00 p.m.
- Return to your hotel
- Overnight at your hotel.
Day 02: Arequipa – Colca Valley
- Breakfast at your hotel.
- Pick-up from your hotel in our transport
- Transport in our van to the Colca Valley.
- In the tour, we will observe the Chanchani volcano.
- After a visit to Cañahuas reserve, a national reserve of Vicunas.
- We will also pass through the Viewpoint of the Andes, from where you can see the snow-capped mountain of Ampato, Hualca-Hualca, and the Mountain Range of the Andes.
- On Chivay, at night we will enjoy folk dances.
- Overnight at a hotel in Chivay.
Day 03: Colca Valley – Parador and Cruz of the Condor
- Breakfast at your hotel.
- We will head to the Viewpoint of the “Cruz del Condor”.
- Observation of the flight of the Condor and the Colca Canyon.
- Then, we will visit the town of Pinchollo.
- Return to Chivay for lunch.
- Return to the city of Arequipa at 05:30 p.m.
- Then transfer to the bus terminal at 07:00 p.m.
- Travel by bus to the beautiful city of Cusco.
Day 04: Cusco City and its Surroundings
- Welcome and pick-up at the terminal of Cusco.
- Transfer to your reserved hotel.
- Air conditioning in the morning at your hotel.
- Pick-up from your hotel for the city tour at 01:30 p.m.
- City tour around the mysterious city of Cusco and its surroundings.
- First visits to the city the Cathedral and Qorikancha.
- Then, visit outside the city of Cusco, Qorikancha, Saqsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pukara, and finally Tambomachay.
- Return to the city of Cusco.
- Transfer to your hotel.
- End of the day.
- Overnight at your hotel.
Day 05: Sacred Valley – Cusco
- Start of the tour with pick-up from your hotel at 08:00 a.m.
- First visit to the Archaeological Center of Pisac.
- Then, visit the handicraft market of Pisac, famous for its originality.
- We will continue the tour by bus to the city of Urubamba.
- Lunch in Urubamba.
- Then visit Ollantaytambo.
- In Ollantaytambo, it is here where we will board the train to sleep in “Aguas Calientes”.
Day 06: “Aguas Calientes” – Machupicchu – Cusco
- After breakfast, we will board the bus to Machu Picchu.
- Entrance to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu at 08:00 a.m.
- Guided tour in the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu for 2 hours.
- Free time for taking pictures in Machu Picchu.
- Return by bus to “Aguas Calientes”.
- Then, return by train to Ollantaytambo for 2 hours
- From Ollantaytambo by car to the city of Cusco
- Arrive near the Main Square of your hotel.
- Overnight at your hotel.
Day 7 Arequipa and Machupicchu Tour: Transfer / Airport, Cusco – Lima
- Breakfast at the Hotel.
- After breakfast, transfer to the airport to board your departure flight.
