ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
WHAT CROPS WILL WE KNOW?
Tea: It is the emblematic plant of Huayopata (the only place in Peru with 90% cultivation, the other 10% is cultivated in Tingo María) and covers 55% of agricultural production. Tea was grown in plots 100 years ago, and currently continues the process of harvesting and industrialization, producing types of tea-mate for consumption such as black tea, the most common, green tea, and white tea, each one with a different and pure scent.
Coffee: It is one of the plants that have best adapted to these areas (thanks to its great variation in microclimates), therefore, this is where the best coffee with an exquisite aroma is produced, considered «High-altitude Coffee». This is due to its unique and unmistakable flavor and aroma and is demanded by a select market.
Cocoa: It is one of the tropical plants that we can find in this area. Its production is abundant and like the other products, it is grown in an artisanal and organic way, that is why the most exquisite chocolate is obtained.
Other crops: Other products that predominate in this area is coca, we can see crops with this product, near the coffee and tea crops; thus we will also appreciate a large number of fruits such as mango, passion fruit, lucuma, orange trees, grapefruit, limes, custard apple and much more native to the area.
