FISHING IN HUAYPO LAGOON 1 DAY

Trip Overview

DESCRIPTION

The Lagoon of Huaypo is located at an altitude of 3,507 m.a.s.l. at the northeast of Cusco City, in the Anta Province. It is a stunning crystal clear lagoon being home to a big variety of migratory birds as well as fishes such as trout and pejerrey (or the Argentinian silverside). The fishes are ready for you in this 1.5 km long and 800-meter wide lagoon.

Fishing in Huaypo Lagoon

During fishing, you can admire the surrounding nature which reflects in the lagoon´s crystalline water such as the impressive snow-capped peaks of Salkantay, Verónica, and Soray. Furthermore, you might observe local villages and their inhabitants pasturing their livestock and much more. The Huaypo Lagoon is so mysterious that locals even say that there is a lost city in it that only comes to light during full Moon nights.
