COFFEE TOUR, GREEN COFFEE, BLACK COFFEE, ORGANIC CHOCOLATE & TEA TOUR 2D/1N
The objective of the Coffee tour Cusco, Green Coffee, Black Coffee, Organic Chocolate & Tea Tour 2D/1N is to take you to the destination of these crops’ cultivation so that you can appreciate the whole production process. It will show you the Huayopata Valley, which is known as a little piece of heaven or eternal paradise. The valley is abundant with orchids, fruits, a variety of mammal, bird, and insect species, etc. You will enjoy walks in a warm tropical climate amidst the highland jungle where you see waterfalls and mountains, have a dip in rivers, collect medicinal plants and go fishing. During these 2 days, you will learn and participate in the cultivation, harvesting, and processing of organic coffee, tea, and cocoa plants.

DAY 1 COFFE TOUR: CUSCO – HUAYOPATA – ECOLODGE IPAL – TEA PLANTATIONS
At 7 am, you are picked up from your hotel by your Tour Guide and you travel for 4 hours to the Valley of Huayopata. On the way, you pass through the Sacred Valley of the Incas to later continue near to one of the most important mountains of Cusco “Veronica” (in Quechua “Huayna Huilca” – Sacred Young). Later, you get to the splendid valley of Huayopata and you visit its viewpoint before you finish the journey at Ecolodge Ipal.
ECOLODGE IPAL
The lodge covers an area of 5,000 m2 it is situated in the rural zone of the highland jungle near to streams, waterfalls and plantations of coffee, tea, cocoa and fruits. Moreover, it is placed the route of the Inca Jungle Trek to Machu Picchu. It consists of bungalows, built in a rustic style, and large gardens offering a quiet place to rest and birding. Upon arrival, you receive a warm welcome from our staff who show you your private cabin where you settle down. After having lunch, you walk through tea plantations visiting the lovely farm “Hacienda del Triunfo”. On one side, you can see fruit trees, and on the other side vestiges of the famous Inca road to Vilcabamba. There, you stop for a while to relish the magic of this place.
AGROTOURISM
Later on, you observe tea harvesting to later move to tea factories to learn about its industrialization process. All of these is done in a craft and organic way. After that, you are able to recognize types of tea. For instance, a black tea – the most common tea typical for its strong flavor, a green tea – an unfermented and very healthy tea, and a white tea – a special tea having the best quality. Then, you taste all types of these delicate teas experiencing a sensation of peace.
There is an optional activity of going to watch birds in the surrounding highland forest in the evening. If you go for the option, you can experience wonderful moments appreciating a quantity of owls, nightjars, and nocturnal mammals that go out to feed themselves. Anyway, you are served dinner at the lodge and then, you go to sleep while listening to the night sounds of the forest.
DAY 2 COFFEE TOUR: ECOLODGE IPAL – COFFEE & COCOA PLANTATIONS – CUSCO
Early morning before breakfast, you go for a walk towards “Catarata del Oso” (Waterfall of the Bear). On the way, you observe various birds. For example, the Cock-of-the-rock (Rupicola peruvianus), the swallow-tailed hummingbird (Eupetomena macroura), the red pileated finch (Coryphospingus cucullatus), the russet-crowned crake (Anurolimnas viridis), the blue-tailed emerald (Chlorostilbon mellisugus), and varieties of tangaras, flycatchers, seedeaters, etc. In the end, you reach the waterfall which owes its name to the fact that it is a natural habitat of the spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatus).
COFFE TOUR CUSCO
When you return to the ecolodge, you are given a typical breakfast of the area. Afterward, you go to see some coffee plantations where you participate in their cultivation. Your Tour Guide explains to you about kinds and forms of coffee as well as the way of how to care for it. Then, you proceed to the harvest and subsequently to the process of coffee husking and drying. With this product, you continue to the house of Martin to learn about the craft roasting process. It is followed by tasting and consumption of this organic coffee and its comparation to green (not roasted) coffee.
When you finish there, you go back to the lodge where you are served lunch. Later, you visit a couple of cocoa plantations where you collect a few cocoa beans. Your Guide gives you an explanation about their cultivation process and then shows you the process of chocolate production. This is followed by the very favorite activity: tasting this delicious organic product. Between 5 and 5:30 pm, you get on our vehicle again to return to Cusco arriving there at around 9 pm. There, you are taken back to your hotel.

- Participation in coffee manufacturing and tasting processes.

- Return transport to Cusco City.
