INCA JUNGLE AND MACHUPICCHU TOUR

DAY 1: CUSCO – SANTA MARIA – BIKE

The Inca Jungle and Machupicchu tour begin with the pick-up from your hotel in our transport at 07:00 a.m. by the professional guide heading towards Ollantaytambo through the Sacred Valley where you will observe beautiful landscapes and Inca archaeological centers. We will arrive in Ollantaytambo in 1 and ½ hours to have your breakfast. Then, we will continue in our transport heading towards the “Abra Malaga” place for approximately 1 hour (4,316 masl) where we will begin descending by bicycle, observing a landscape of puna vegetation. We will make a stop in an archaeological center of Huamanmarka (built with a religious purpose), translated in Spanish means “Place of Hawks”. Then, we will continue in our transport to “Santa Maria” where we will have lunch. Then, we will visit the coffee plantations and fruit trees. Finally, dinner and overnight in the family home.

DAY 2: SANTA MARIA – SANTA TERESA – HIKE

We will get up early to have breakfast, then continue the walk along the banks of the river, along the way we will enjoy observing the diversity of flora and fauna of the place as birds (parrots, hummingbirds, eagles, and if we are lucky to see the cock of the rocks) and mammals (wild cats, sajinos, siyahiro, monkeys), medicinal plants (cat’s claw and others) and fruit trees (banana, mango, orange, tangerine, cocoa, pacay, coca trees, coffee, and others) to a small town called “Quellomayo” where we will have a rest and lunch.

Then, we will walk for about an hour and a half until we reach a place where the car will wait for us and continue on our way to the thermal baths of Santa Teresa (Cocalmayo) in this place we will have a relaxing bath, then we will continue the 45-minute walk to Santa Teresa, place where we will spend the second night in a family lodging where is the right place for nightlife in disco as of the place, where you will taste pisco sour, finally the night.

DAY 03: SANTA TERESA – “AGUAS CALIENTES”

Early in the morning after breakfast at 07:00 a.m. The decision will be yours for adventure in Canopy or Zip Line, it will be very fun but (not included) for approximately 2 hours. We will continue the hike through places as if you would be exploring the beautiful vegetation and observing butterflies, lizards, small birds until you reach Hydroelectric where we will have lunch, then we will continue the 3-hour walk to “Aguas Calientes”, where you will have dinner and overnight in the reserved hotel.

DAY 4 INCA JUNGLE AND MACHUPICCHU TOUR: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Very early in the morning (at around 05:30 a.m.), breakfast to transport us on the first bus that will take us to “The Wonder of the World”. The Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu for approximately 20 minutes.

Then, we will have our guided tour for approximately 2 hours where the guide will take us through the most important places of the Citadel (Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Three Windows, The Intihuatana, Platforms for Agricultural Development, and other Religious Centers) after our visit, we will have a few hours to take pictures and travel on our own at the Inca Citadel Machu Picchu (the time depends a lot on the train schedule that is granted since it has to be half an hour before the departure of your train at the station).

The other option is to climb the Huayna Picchu (not included) to appreciate the impressive view of the entire citadel. Finally, we will take the train back from “Aguas Calientes” to Ollantaytambo for 2 hours, then by car to the city of Cusco and respectively to your hotels so that you have a break approximately 1 hour.

DAY 1 INCA JUNGLE AND MACHUPICCHU TOUR: CUSCO – SANTA MARIA – BICYCLE

• Pick-up from your hotel at 07:00 a.m.
• Transfer by bus to Ollantaytambo for 1 and ½ hours.
• Breakfast in Ollantaytambo.
• We will continue our trip by bus to “Abra Malaga”.
• Descent by bicycle from “Abra Malaga” towards the Huamanmarka (Inca Religious Archaeological Center).
• We will continue in our car from Huamanmarka to Santa Maria.
• Arrive in Santa Maria for lunch.
• Then sight by the fruit trees of the Santa Maria village.
• Overnight in Santa Maria, family lodging.

DAY 2: SANTA MARIA – SANTA TERESA – WALK

• Breakfast to start the walk.
• Walk along the river banks.
• During the tour observation of diversity of flora and fauna birds (parrots, hummingbird, eagles and if we are lucky to see the cock of the rocks) and fruit trees (banana, mango, orange, tangerine, cocoa, pacay, coca trees, coffee, and others).
• We will arrive at a small village of “Quellomayo” where we will have lunch.
• Then the walk for 1 and ½ hour where the transport will wait for us.
• We will continue our journey by bus to Cocalmayo.
• Relaxing bath in Cocalmayo.
• Then a 45-minute walk to Santa Teresa.
• Dinner and overnight in Santa Teresa.

DAY 03: SANTA TERESA – “AGUAS CALIENTES”

• Breakfast at 07:00 a.m.
• Canopy or Zip Line Adventure for 2 hours (not included).
• Start of a trek from Santa Teresa to Hydroelectric.
• Observation in the route of butterflies, lizards, the cock of the rocks, and diversity of vegetation such as ferns and orchids.
• Arrive at Hydroelectric for lunch.
• Start the trek to “Aguas Calientes” by rail for 3 hours.
• Arrive at “Aguas Calientes” at approximately 04:30 p.m.
• Fresh bathroom in your reserved hotel.
• Dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 INCA JUNGLE AND MACHUPICCHU TOUR: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

• Breakfast at the hotel at 05:30 a.m.
• Pick-up from your hotel by the professional guide at 06:30 a.m.
• Then climb to the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu by bus for 20 minutes.
• Entrance to the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu with our professional guide who will take you to the places of mysterious Inca constructions (Temple of the Sun, The Temple of the Three Windows, The Intihuatana, Platforms for Agricultural Development, and other Religious Centers) within about 2 hours.
• Free time to take pictures and go on your own to the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu.
• Return by bus to the village of “Aguas Calientes” for our lunch.
• Return by train from “Aguas Calientes” to Ollantaytambo in 2 hours.
• Transfer by car from Ollantaytambo Cusco in 1 hour and respectively to your hotels for your rest.
